Give Me Jesus, Give Them Jesus
Father, forgive us for taking the best of our vocabulary and using it for objects, affections, and accomplishments that are not worthy of their attribution. Expand our usefulness of language so that we may speak much of Christ and reserve the best, the sweetest, and most powerful words only for Him.
Because of His uniqueness, your one and only Son, help us to have a sanctified tongue fueled by blazing affections and enraptured thoughts of Him.
Grant us an intimacy with the gospel and communion with our Savior whereby we have something to say that is different in substance and degree to all that this world is tuned into hearing, and may your Spirit attend to those words with quickening power to pierce hearts, open ears, and help them see the majesty and beauty of King Jesus.
