Same here, brother. I was glad I made the drive up from Dallas. If you're ever in the area, I'd love to catch up.

Incidentally, I spent some time this afternoon perusing your blog and really enjoyed my bad self.

Gunny,

It was a pleasure meeting you at the conference. Indeed, it was a very profitable time. I look forward to keeping in touch!

I've been to a fair amount of conferences in my day, but this one could hold its own with the best of them.

I pretty much wish each speaker could have had an extra 20-30 minutes, but barring that it would be hard to criticize beyond the glaring improvement of having the conference in the Lone Star State.

Jonathan,

Sorry it has taken so long to reply to your comment brother. It indeed was a pleasure to meet and spend time with you this past week. You represent SEBTS well, and I am excited to hear about how and where the Lord is leading you in future ministry and training. No worries about the airport drama. I really enjoyed our conversation and look forward to many future opportunities to sharpen one another in our pursuit of the glory of Christ!

Grace always,

Timmy

Will,

Great to hear from you man. Yes, I am working on a new system and will likely be using Andy's or perhaps a lightly modified version. I have found a young man whom I will be mentoring, and I am going to see if we can work on it together. One thing I have found helpful is to take a chapter, set it in 6 or 8 point font, and cut it to the dimensions of a small moleskin journal where it can easily be pasted on a page. I have a three-pack of the "cashier's" journal which is the mini-version (64 pages per book) where I am looking to make one my Scripture memory journal, one a missional/evangelistic journal, and the other one a "getting things done" journal. I think by doing that it will help me organize my thoughts and record my dealings with my own soul and the souls of others.

The biggest challenge I have is retention, and I think Andy's method will really help me in this regard. Too much of what I remember is deposited in a short-term memory bank, and I need to seal it with permanence through repetition and meditation.

Timmy,

I am getting ready to download all of the sermons to listen to at work. Thanks for providing the links. I did notice on your Twitter that you are thinking about a scripture memory plan. I am currently using Andy's approach to memorize Galatians, and I love it. I have been under conviction since T4G to do this and just kept dragging my feet until Piper preached at New Attitude this year. His sermon ignited the fire and I pulled out Andy's booklet and have been following it. It has been amazing. I find that during those random moments of the day, I start quoting what I have learned so far over and over leading me to meditate on the truths that are there. I would recommend his method to anybody.
