Blue Collar Theology 26: The Works of John Bunyan (PDF)
We live in a day and age where we have access to the works of the most eminent saints of church history. One such saint is John Bunyan, and his complete works have been compiled here for your benefit. Each link directs you to a PDF document which can be downloaded to your computer. All of these files have been made available via Bunyan Ministries under the direction of Dr. Barry Horner. You can also find these links in other formats at the John Bunyan online page developed by Mount Zion Chapel Library. I find it most appropriate that Bunyan’s Works be included in the Blue Collar Theology series as this “tinker of Bedford” who was rather poorly educated left quite a legacy. Check it out!

Jerry,
Thanks for bringing that website to our attention. I had bookmarked it but did not include it in this post since I was focusing on the Bunyan’s Works. But yeah, another great website for all things Bunyan.
I find it really encouraging to see so many Puritan Divines recovered and made available on the internet (and it makes my job a lot easier!). Of course, when John Owen comes up, I cannot imagine how much stuff will be out there!

Timmy,
I recently was able to get Bunyan’s set from Banner as I cannot sit up and stare at a computer for that long. At any rate after looking through the first volume and reading Jerusalem Sinner Saved I was astonished at how much he points folks to the intercession and mediation of Christ our High Priest. Obviously he has “Christ Work as an Advocate” but even in “Christ A complete Savior” he points us to that. “The Saint’s Privilege and Profit” is about the Throne of Grace. He laments the lack of attention to it in his day and I believe it’s especially true in this one as well. For example, did any of the preachers at TG4 point young pastors to this most important work of Christ? I ask as I haven’t heard every message but I have a feeling it was a greatly neglected facet of Christ’s ministry for our strengthening against sin and temptation. Should we wonder how he persevered in prison and pierced the hearts of men as John Owen once said to the king? Just some random thoughts…
