Timmy - many thanks for this and for your recent prayers and encouragement. This was very helpful for me today as I constantly wage a battle for contentment. The comments to the effect that if you have Christ you have the treasure of your soul are the most helpful, and therein lies the greatest battle - to fight against the idols which compete with Christ. Thanks again.

Thank you, Phil, for such a great post about Burroughs. It is so comforting to hear of men who spoke experientially/experimentally regarding the doctrines they wrote so elaborately. May this article provide some context to the life of the author as we continue to read his words as he teaches us on contentment.
