Reaction and Reactions
[Disclaimer: This week has been a whirlwind, so this post will be totally random]
1. First, I want to say thanks to all of you who have been so kind to respond to my posts on missional work and the gospel as it relates to the SBC. I have not checked the blog in three days (as you can see by the spam comments getting through!) and would have liked to respond to the things you have shared. Perhaps I can do that soon in the near future.
2. Second, I just noticed that P&P just passed a big mile-marker with 2,000+ reactions. I really appreciate all the bloggers out there that have found my stuff worth linking. You have been too kind.
3. Third, the 2008 Band of Bloggers fellowship went off great. Aside from my car scraping the ground with the weight of 1200 books on the way to the Galt House, with the help of many gracious folks all the preparations and plans came together just in time. The panel–Tim Challies, Thabiti Anyabwile, Phil Johnson, and Abraham Piper–led a great discussion on “The Gospel Trust”, and my dear brother Owen Strachan did a phenomenal job moderating the event altogether. I also want to thank Tony Kummer and his church for providing and working the sound which was a huge blessing. I could go on, but I just want to take a moment to say a few words of thanks and express my joy for being a small part of encouraging brothers and sisters to consider the gospel trust. In the future, I will be working to develop a gospel-centered community through the Band of Bloggers website with a team of contributors as well as blog aggregation. More details coming soon.
4. One of the reasons I haven’t been blogging is because I have been spending all my free time with the many folks I have met at T4G. So many of you I have only been able to shake hands or hug, but it is really encouraging to actually see face-to-face the people who read P&P. Much of the discussions and meetings have been around church planting, church-based theological education, Christian publishing, and partnerships in the gospel. Man it has been really good.
5. I’ve been snapping some shots with my paparazzi lens this week. Hopefully I will be able to post them soon. Right now, my internet connection is down (either that or my network connection in the computer is faulty), so I am unable to upload anything at this time.
Time to go . . . I’ve got to edit those photos of that SBC denominational employee I saw at a bar downtown . . .

Tim, you did a phenomenal job putting the BOBs together… the meeting was great, pannel was great, food was good (especially the cookies
), but the best was allowing us time to pray. I enjoyed taking time to stop and pray for each other.
Please allow me to be the first to comment by saying, “thank you” for your hard work! God Bless.

Just make sure I get to sit next to Yogi again next time. I enjoyed that and I’d love to fellowship with him more!
We have got to do this every T4G now. This is too good and gracious for us not to continue!
Just make sure you send out plenty of those photos of the guy in the bar…

Tim:
Great job on the BoB! Also, I heard that there were 2 (!) SBC employees at that downtown establishment. Somebody ought to pass a resolution….

RESOLVED, no SBC member shall take pictures with a camera or otherwise of any SBC employee and of nothing at any SBC event save items, times and places on the pre-approved list.
That should fix it, Timmy.

It was cool to meet you at BoB. You and everyone involved did a wonderful job on that event. I look forward to keeping up with whatever is going on with future BoB endeavors.
P.S. Hope our little earthquake wasn’t too exciting for ya.

Hi Tim,
Wanted to thank you for your effort at putting together the BOB luncheon.
