1200.
No, that’s not the average number of words in each blogpost!
It is the final number of books we will be giving away at the 2008 Band of Bloggers fellowship. I am very grateful for all the publishers and ministries who have partnered with BoB by providing these books for all those attend this year’s event. It gives me lots of joy to be able to give to others in this manner, and I pray these resources will bring greater joy in their relationship with God.
Here’s the list of what we will be giving away:
Giveaway #1: Dear Timothy (Founders Press)
Giveaway #2: The Mortification of Sin (Banner of Truth)
Giveaway #3: When I Don’t Desire God (Desiring God)
Giveaway #4: Christ Is All (Reformation Heritage Books)
Giveaway #5: reThink (InQuest Ministries)
Giveaway #6: A Tale of Two Sons (Grace to You)
Giveaway #7: Walking as He Walked (Reformation Heritage Books)
Giveaway #8: Young, Restless, Reformed (Crossway)
Registration closed yesterday, and we have 150+ people attending this year, more than double our 2006 attendance. Also, we are having one slight change with our panel speakers which I will announce later today.
Also, this Friday I hope to spend some time talking with Collin Hansen in a podcast interview which I hope to make available sometime early next week. We will, of course, be talking about his new book, as well as whatever else comes to my mind!
For those of you flying to Louisville for the conference, I would encourage you to carry an empty backpack (or something similar) to pack the books and then check as your second piece of luggage on your way back. Otherwise, I fear you will be over the weight limit with all the books you will be getting (not counting those you purchase on your own).

I’ll say what I said over at BoB blog: I could cry. We are getting spoiled. Spoiled, I say.

Stephen,
I just know that my wife will be glad when all these books are out of our living room! Seriously, everyone has been so generous to give and be a blessing, and I am just having the opportunity to have a front row seat in this effort to cultivate a gospel-centered community of Christians who happen to have a blog.

Good job Tim! Thanks for organizing this event. See you soon.

Timmy, if I am too exhausted to do the Louisville run for the lunch meeting…can I still get the books? I paid for registration. I think I will come, but it is a long day in the car for the meeting
I just bought the Young, Restless and Reformed…which means I now have “a gift book” – I love giving books as much as getting them
I’m not totally out of the water with McCoy yet – 170-154…still a dim light of hope to to shock the world.

Best $15.00 I ever spent…no, wait…I forgot about my wife’s engagement ring.

That reminds me, if you need volunteers, I’m still available to help out. I’m taking that week off from UPS.

Man, this makes me sad so I can’t read your blog anymore…or until after T4G.
What I mean is, a group from my church is going to the conference and there aren’t any tickets left for me to go as I found out too late about the group.

Sorry brother! I tried my best to get the word out during the six weeks of registration. I figured if people read JT , DG Blog, and Challies, that would knock out most folks, but apparently many still did not hear about it.

Hey bro. I knew everything that was going on and such. What I didn’t know at the time is that a group from church was going. That would have made things a little more cost efficient. I guess this is the first of the changes of things to come that shared. Good things!
