Alabama public education made it possible for me to get through English and Lit while having only watching the movies and read a few cliff notes. It’s a shame, I know. I can remember helping some of my former high school students who were seniors writing essays for their college scholarship application. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that they could not write in complete or coherent sentences!

I have an entire bookcase of books that I have hidden that I do not allow anyone to see. For the first two years of reading, I had no direction, counsel, or guidance on knowing what to get, so yeah, you could imagine what I read. I spend too much money on books that have now been turned into fire-starters.

No psycho-analysis here, but what about some historical analysis?

Apparently Timmy memorized “2 Legit 2 Quit” before he read his first book… unless he was also 19 years old when he was in 6th grade… and listening to “2 Legit 2 Quit” way after M.C. Hammer was cool.
