I posted mine as well. Here's a cool thing. We were referenced on the banneroftruth.org website for reviewing banner of truth books and endorses the Puritan Challenge 2008.

Timmy,

Thank you very much for tagging me, I was actually quite shocked. Also, one of my first books was Left Behind. I am glad that I too have left that behind. Has anyone ever heard what Paul Washer said about that book?..."The only thing that was 'Left Behind' was the Bible". That may be a little strong, but funny still. Here is mine

The meme was pretty funny. It was also fun to see who would play along----did you see Tim Challies' and Thabiti (Pure Church)'s Self Disclosure Meme? Thabiti's was hilarious, I enjoy his Blog and was quite surprised by some of his answers. Once again, look what you have started! :)

D.L. Kane,

That was one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time. 2 Legit 2 Quit is quite appropriate for Sibbes!

Andrew,

Alabama public education made it possible for me to get through English and Lit while having only watching the movies and read a few cliff notes. It's a shame, I know. I can remember helping some of my former high school students who were seniors writing essays for their college scholarship application. I couldn't believe it when I saw that they could not write in complete or coherent sentences!

dec,

Turning point indeed. Perhaps no greater signpost for me was going to Mr. Zion Chapel Library in Pensacola, Florida where I met my first Puritan Paperback!

Letitia,

I have an entire bookcase of books that I have hidden that I do not allow anyone to see. For the first two years of reading, I had no direction, counsel, or guidance on knowing what to get, so yeah, you could imagine what I read. I spend too much money on books that have now been turned into fire-starters.

Jim,

Graduated high school in 1985?! Dude, you had to have had a mullet and bleached jeans back then. Me? I wore Jams. :)

Who says these won't alter my life? I graduated high school in 1985. My first girlfriend was Leslie Garbig in kindergarten. That would have been 1971; long before you were born, sonny boy. Since when did other people get younger than me? :P (Actually, my wife hadn't been born yet either cone to think of it, so maybe it's not too bad.)

re: "The first book I ever read was...when I was 19 years old."

-Alabama public education at work!

No psycho-analysis here, but what about some historical analysis?

Apparently Timmy memorized "2 Legit 2 Quit" before he read his first book... unless he was also 19 years old when he was in 6th grade... and listening to "2 Legit 2 Quit" way after M.C. Hammer was cool.
