Also, the "Henry Forums" at Capitol Hill Baptist Church are named after Henry. These talks are available through CHBC's website, www.capitolhillbaptist.org (I don't have the exact link handy and am on a very weak connection right now so I can't get it to come through).

I was introduced to Henry by his massive 'God, Revelation and Authority', which I have read and enjoyed (hard as that might seem to some). I am also blessed to have a copy of his 'Confessions of a Theologian' (autobiography) with an actual letter from Dr. Henry himself inside (not to me, but to the book's previous owner). He is very little known in England, which is a pity. I don't think he's so much 'the fogotten Henry' here as the Henry we never knew in the first place! I find him extremely helpful.

Have you actually been to the Henry Institute? I tried to find it, but couldn't?

It's not on any seminary maps either?

I should probably go ask Dr. Moore, right?

Great post. I read his little book on Fundamentalism a few years ago and that's what made me realize that (in spite of what all my collegiate 'moderate' friends claimed that I was) I have never been one! I owe a lot to Henry for that! Instead of prejoratively attacking, he actually dialogued and dealt with some tough issues in that little book. I recommend it to all "Resurgance" SBCers.

Thanks Timmy.

I consider myself to be quite well read in the Puritans and Reformers and I'm ashamed to say that not only have I not read Carl F. H. Henry, but until your post I'm not sure I've ever even heard of him.

Perhaps that is because I am a Presbyterian, however, I have never limited myself to reading only Presbyterians, or even only Reformed/Calvinist works.

Thank you for the links. I am looking forward to exploring his works.

I haven't really read much of Henry's work. For Baptist history I'm planning on writing a paper related to his theological method, and I've started trucking through that section on GR&A. I'm looking forward to it, and hope to read through more of Henry's work after school doesn't take so much of my time.

Thanks for this highlight,
Danny
