Scott,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and how the Lord has grown you with respect to gospel ministry.

Mark,

Thanks for the comment brother. I don't know how much more I will blog regarding Wells' No Place for Truth. These two were something I have been thinking about for some time. Perhaps more will come later. I do, however, plan on writing more about calling and ministry either here or over at Said at Southern.

Excellent stuff Timmy. This series is very encouraging and challenging. Thanks for reminding me what it means to be a minister of the gospel.

Are you going to continue posting your thoughts from No Place for Truth?

This is one of the largest struggles I had in my early Christian life. I thought Salvation was the beginning...then you grew to be and "Outreach Leader'...then to a Sunday School teacher....then up to Deacon...and on to Missionary or preacher... It was "You get saved then you grow to what God designed you to be". I was constantly trying to figure out 'God's will for my life' meaning what was my 'Christian Career' going to ulitmately be. I was freed from this rat race when I stumbled upon a section in Oswald Chambers (Utmost for His Highest) that pointed out this very thing you talked about..."The end of it all (not the beginning) is our Salvation." That is the ultimate! Then we just live in the joy of our salvation and the new relationship with Christ; drawing closer to Him each day and let Him live out Himself through us. It's not what can I become...but what can He be through me...
