The law (the Ten Commandments) is a gift from God to help people get saved. It stops the mouth of sinners (Romans 3:19), shows people what their sin is (Romans 3:20), and is a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). Christians aren't under the law, but the unsaved are. The vast majority of gospel presentations ignore the law completely.

Ignoring the law makes hell unreasonable. Most pastors don't even mention hell. How can the Christians be concerned about people's eternal destiny in hell, when the pastor rarely talks about hell? Since people don't hear a good gospel presentation, they don't know what to say when they're witnessing.

Ignoring the law creates false converts, because people come to Jesus to get their problems solved, rather than to have their sins forgiven. Therefore, they don't actually repent or become born-again.

I think another problem is that pastors aren't leading the way. I go witnessing on Main Street in my hometown of 25,000 with about 40 churches. Why are there zero pastors willing to go with us? Why are one other guy and I the only ones willing to go?

Church is not supposed to be a pleasure cruise. It should be a battle ship at the gates of hell.
